Statutory Warranty (Liability for Defects)

The statutory right to a defect-free item, usually 2 years.

If a purchased item is defective from the start, you have statutory warranty rights: first supplementary performance (repair or replacement), then price reduction or withdrawal. The warranty generally applies for two years from handover and is required by law, unlike a voluntary guarantee.
