The Anwalts-Bürger-App is a free self-help platform from Germany that helps citizens stand up to companies, scammers and public authorities, even without an expensive lawyer.
In brief
Upload a photo or describe your problem, and the app recognizes the case, names the relevant laws and creates the finished letter. Plus scam checking, help with authorities, data deletion under the GDPR and a section on your rights during a police stop. The core is free; on request we refer you to licensed lawyers. The app is a self-help tool and does not replace legal advice.
What the app does
- Letters against companies: Photo/description → case recognized, provisions named, finished letter including a follow-up letter.
- Scam check: Check a suspicious text, email or payment demand for typical schemes, with a traffic light and reporting offices.
- Get your money back: Ready-made texts for buyer protection, bank recall and criminal report (eBay, PayPal, bank transfer, account hack …).
- Help with public authorities: Objection or application with deadline calculation, for example against Jobcenter decisions.
- Police stop: Your rights, calmly step by step, with the exact provisions for all 16 federal states.
- Delete data & guides: GDPR requests to data brokers; concrete guides on account hacks, fake shops, phishing and much more.

There is no corporation behind the Anwalts-Bürger-App, but Sebastian Niehues, with a clear stance: far too often it is not the law that decides, but who can afford a lawyer.
