Frequently asked questions
Am I entitled to an interim reference?
Yes, with a valid reason, for example a change of supervisor or management, an upcoming application, parental leave, a transfer or an operational change. The interim reference must be truthful and favorable, comparable to a final reference.
Does the interim reference bind the later final reference?
To a certain extent, yes. An issued interim reference has a binding effect: the final reference should not turn out significantly worse without an objective reason (for example subsequently poorer performance). A good interim reference is therefore also a safeguard for the closing reference.
