Frequently asked questions
Can I reduce points with the driving aptitude seminar?
Yes, but only at a level of 1 to 5 points and at most once within five years can you reduce one point with it. At higher point levels a reduction through the seminar is no longer provided.
When is my driving license withdrawn?
The driving aptitude assessment system is graded: at 4 to 5 points a caution follows, at 6 to 7 points a warning and at 8 points the withdrawal of the driving license (§ 4 StVG). So there are warning tiers beforehand.
When are points deleted?
Points are deleted after fixed erasure periods that depend on the type of violation (two and a half, five or ten years). The periods run independently of one another. A point reduction through the seminar is additionally possible within narrow limits.
