Frequently asked questions
How do I get information about my credit data?
You can request a data copy from the credit agency under Art. 15 DSGVO, once a year free of charge. From it you can see which data is stored and which companies reported it. Check the entries for accuracy and currency.
How do I have wrong entries corrected?
Dispute inaccurate or impermissible data with the credit agency and the reporting company and demand correction or deletion (Art. 16, 17 DSGVO). Enclose evidence, for example of a payment or an objection. The credit agency must examine the information.
What can I do about a bad score?
If the scoring is based on wrong data, have it corrected: that can improve the score. Special legal requirements apply for scoring (§ 31 BDSG). Purely automated decisions with a significant effect are only permitted to a limited extent and can be questioned.
