Vicarious Agent (Tort Law)

An instruction-bound helper in tort law.

A vicarious agent is a helper deployed subject to instructions. The principal is liable for the harm the agent causes but can exonerate themselves if they observed the required care in selecting and supervising the agent. This concerns tort liability outside of contracts.
