Unauthorized Payment
A debit you never agreed to.
A payment is only effective against you if you consented to it. This consent is called authorization. If it is missing, for example because criminals captured your data through a fake website, an unauthorized payment has occurred. In that case your payment service provider, usually your bank, is obliged to refund the amount without delay and to restore the account to the balance it would have had without the debit. You must report the transaction without delay after noticing it, and at the latest 13 months after the day of the debit.
