Create an objection

Your chances of getting your money back

Against the rejection of a medical rehab (by the pension insurance or health insurer) you can file an objection within one month (§ 84 SGG). A detailed medical justification significantly increases the chances.
If the application is rejected on grounds of jurisdiction, the provider often has to forward it to the correct one. If a reduction in earning capacity looms, the pension insurance is responsible (rehab before pension).

What you should do now

  1. 1

    1. Check the reason for rejection

Medically denied, wrong provider or a formal error? The objection depends on that.

  2. 2

    2. Involve the doctor

Have your need for rehab certified in detail by a doctor (findings, diagnoses, previous treatments).

  3. 3

    3. File an objection

File an objection in writing on time (1 month) and submit the medical justification later.

  4. 4

    4. Use advice services

Social associations (VdK, SoVD), rehab advice and the information centers of the pension insurance help free of charge.

Frequently asked questions

How long do I have to challenge the rehab rejection?

Usually one month from receipt of the decision. File an objection in writing within the deadline (§ 84 SGG); you can submit the detailed justification later. Watch the legal remedies instruction in the decision, it names the deadline and the recipient.

What helps the objection succeed?

Above all a meaningful medical justification of the need for rehab with diagnoses, findings and the previous course of treatment. Describe concretely why outpatient treatment is not sufficient. You get support with the application and objection free of charge from social associations and rehab advice.
