Right to Refuse Testimony
The right, as a witness, to refuse to testify.
Certain relatives of an accused person may refuse to testify as witnesses, such as spouses, fiancés, or close relatives. They must be informed of this right before questioning. In addition, there is a right not to answer individual questions if doing so would incriminate oneself.
