Single Act and Multiple Acts
Several offenses: one act or several acts?
If someone commits several offenses through a single action, this is a single act (Tateinheit); several independent actions constitute multiple acts (Tatmehrheit). This affects sentencing: in the case of multiple acts, an overall sentence is formed from the individual sentences.
