Discontinuation of Proceedings
Proceedings can end without a judgment.
The public prosecutor's office can discontinue criminal proceedings where guilt is minor, in part without and in part in return for a condition such as a monetary payment. There is then no judgment and no criminal record arises. Whether proceedings are discontinued is a matter of discretion.
