Child Benefit

A monthly state payment for children.

Child benefit is paid for children up to age 18, and up to age 25 if they are in training or education. It is meant to secure the child's basic subsistence level. It is taken into account when calculating support payments. You apply for it at the Family Benefits Office (Familienkasse).
