Defense of the Unperformed Contract
Withholding one's own performance until the counter-performance.
In a reciprocal contract, each side can refuse its performance until the other renders the counter-performance, step by step. So whoever is to pay can withhold payment until the defect-free goods are delivered, and vice versa.
