Unjust Enrichment
Reclaiming benefits obtained without legal grounds.
Whoever obtains something at another's expense without legal grounds, for example an accidental double payment, must return it. The law of unjust enrichment provides a balancing remedy when a shift in assets has occurred without a valid basis.
