Depreciation (AfA)
Spreading acquisition costs over the useful life.
Depreciation for wear and tear spreads the cost of long-lasting assets over their useful life. Instead of deducting the costs immediately, they are recognized proportionally each year as an expense. This applies, for example, to machines, buildings, or work equipment.
